On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome all of you to ACASEA 2024. It is a great pleasure and honor for us to host the 11th Academic Congress of Asian Shoulder and Elbow Association in the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum Kaohsiung, Taiwan on October 2nd-5th, 2024. It will be a lifetime opportunity to experience Kaohsiung, the south Taiwan and the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum.

　ACASEA was a triennial congress, established in Nagasaki, Japan in 1993. ACASEA becomes a biennial congress after 2020, based on the decision at the 9th ACASEA in Mumbai, India. We would like to invite experts and participants from all the Asian countries and beyond. Your active participation in large numbers is what will make this meeting a great success.

　The main theme of ACASEA 2024 is “Innovation and Love”. Through the innovative designs, improved clinical experience, translational research, artificial intelligence, and modern techniques, we can provide the optimal treatment and supports for our patients and orthopaedic surgeons ourselves. In the ACASEA 2024, we would like to propose the Nobuhara Katsuya Award to memorize our eternal mentor and to inspire and encourage the continuous investigations in the shoulder and elbow territories in Asia.

　Kaohsiung is situated in the southern part of Taiwan with an international airport serving most countries. Kaohsiung also offers scenic mountains, ocean views, and rivers, as well as port, culture, and historic attractions. If you take a flight to Taipei, you can arrive in Kaohsiung easily by the high speed rail in 1.5 hours. The weather in Kaohsiung during early October is very pleasant, which makes it the best time for travelling.

The Fo Guang Shan Monastery is not only the headquarters of the zen Fo Guang Shan Monastic order but also the biggest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan. The Buddha Museum fuses traditional and modern elements, and is equipped with the facilities to assist in spiritual cultivation and the attainment of wisdom, as will as serving as a site for culture and education.
